About the Speaker

David Choi is the Founder of My Lasting Plan. Born in 1982 and raised in Sydney, he was educated at Sydney Grammar School and UNSW. There, he graduated with degrees in Law and Finance.

David spent 20 years as an institutional portfolio manager before becoming an entrepreneur. He most recently served as Director of Portfolio Construction at AustralianSuper, with previous roles including Head of Australian Macro at Aberdeen Asset Management and Portfolio Dealer at Treasury Corporation of NSW. Driven by his own family's lived experience, David left his corporate career to tackle the urgent need for financial safety and practical governance in retirement.

The Workshop

David will be speaking about My Lasting Plan, a local social enterprise with a clear community mission: providing affordable, accessible financial safety for everyone.

The workshop will teach you how to set up a financial safety net with your family and safeguard your family harmony. It brings your loved ones together to build open communication about your financial safety. This proactive approach closes the financial vulnerability gap that can accompany ageing. The transparency also acts as a deterrent against financial abuse. My Lasting Plan's TrustCircle digital tool makes it easy to create this support network with your family. Currently a prototype, we are actively seeking community feedback to help shape its final design.
