Gina has been appointed the Public Image Co-ordinator for Australia, and confirmed our thinking that Rotary does not get the recognition we deserve.
This is confirm by a poll showing that 80% of Australians are NOT familiar with Rotary. In fact 40% haven't even heard of us and 53% of the websites are out of date.
Gina reminded us that we have a great story which we need to tell. Keep it simple and relate it to the public. We need a consistent message and a visual identity.
We walked thru ways to improve our image - many of which we have started work on. (We appreciated Gina giving our website a tick of approval)
Firstly we have the Rotary International Brand centre offering numerous tools to help us. There is also the People of Action campaign.
Individuals can wear their Rotary Pin, avoid 'Rotary Speak'' and add Rotary to their email Signature.
Clubs can ensure they use the new Rotary logo, use A frame boards and pull up banners, etc. A team should be pulled together to download guidelines, plan & budget activities.
Social media should be used frequently and persistently, always with photos & videos.
Whilst we have done some of the above, we don't give the subject much ''air time'' and can certainly do more.
Gina's 20 years experience, offer of assistance and enthusiasm has prompted us. Thank You Gina

Saturday 25th August - Trivia night @ Chatswood Rotary
Our parent club North Sydney is celebrating its 90th year of service on the 16th August.
As it was North Sydney that formed the Rotary Club of Crows Nest 49 years ago I feel we should have some presence at this celebration. To date the Raveane's and Lee's are going it would be great if others could join us
