The first meeting of the year though short in numbers went well. We had a prospective new member in attendance and Tom will maintain communication with her.

 

In club news, the board in an out of session meeting agreed to buy with the help of a District Grant two Phillips Lullaby Phototherapy Systems for the neo-natal clinic at RNSH. These units are used to treat babies born with jaundice. This is our first Community Service project for the year instigated by Louise. An order has been placed and we will organise a presentation ceremony at the clinic when they arrive.

 

Mark has finalised the BBQ roster and teams until the end of October. This is posted on our website. Ian will endeavour to get more dates later in the year. Captains, please remember it’s your responsibility to check the availability of your team members.

 

Tom has organised speakers for our night meetings until the end of November. Tom and Kate are looking for restaurant venues for the night meetings to make the functions a more social event in better facilities.

 

Trifecta sales are starting early this year and looking good. Mark will be doing a further mail out later this month.

 

I will be going to Timor Leste again this year for RYLA. It is our fifteenth year. At this stage I have 10 other Rotarians from other clubs joining me. A very busy program has been put together including the opening of a pre-school funded by Mosman RC and a visit to the pre-school we supplied with equipment We will also be looking at further possible projects. Anyone interested in coming all the details are in the webpage or give me a ring.
