Our guest speakers this week DGN Michelle Ellery. Michele will be the DG in 2026-2027. Michelle gave an overview of her plans for the future and an explanation of where we are up to with the regionalisation program. This was followed by a broad discussion on the future of Rotary and more importantly our club.
The conference this year was great with five of us attending. Great range of speakers, food and fellowship. The RIPPA as usual went far too long. The Fit for Purpose program with school children as presenters was a great innovation and I hope it is continued next year.
Mark and I attended the District Assembly last Saturday, numbers were down on previous years and the DGE was a no show so we cant report to much on the coming year. We have signed up to be eligible for a Foundation grant again this year. Any ideas please talk to Louise as we need to get the application in by the end of May.
Tom is finalising our joint Pride of Workmanship dinner with Lane Cove club, at a great restaurant in Cammeray on the 22nd April. We look like having a full house so please let Tom know asap if you haven’t booked. We have three excellent candidates for the award.
ROMAC is holding a luncheon on the 31st May. More information as it comes to hand.
MUNA is being held in May and George has organised a team.
RYPEN applications now open. George is contacting the local schools.
Our next meeting is the Pride of workmanship Night on the 22nd April.
Our guest was DGN, Michelle Ellery , chaired an informal discussion on currently Rotary issues, and shared her views on how she will operate when she is District Governor.
A lively discussion followed on a number of key issues(i.e. Membership).
Michelle thanked us for allowing her to attend, sought our input, and appreciated our honest response. Tom thanked Michelle, with the closing comment. "You are a breath of Fresh air".
President-Elect Mark, will chair a "Club Assembly" on May 5th which will follow up from Michelle's input, as well as the District assembly. Topic will include finalising the 2025/26 board, his focal points, ideas for for projects/activities.
BUT most importantly YOUR input. Please think about activities/projects we can do, and solutions to current concerns you may have.
