PRESIDENT'S COLUMN

Hi Fellow Rotarians

Last Monday we had Zoom and welcomed Catherine Heeney to our meeting as a potential new member. Kate Riddle is hot on the trail of local primary schools with our offer of Buddy Benches. Cammeray Primary is very keen on the idea. Our DG Christine Owen will visit us on Monday 28^th for lunch at the Union. ALL Directors need to be present as well as many members as possible to show the flag. We will be approaching our local member Tim James to make him an Honorary Member of Crows Nest. Ross is checking out the Crowes Nest Hotel as a possible venue for our meetings. The Mary's House project of installing an IT program to link all their services is complete. Well done to Sue Raveane with a District Grant. Bruce de Graff is sorting out Coles as a secure supplier for Bunnings BBQ. Thanks Bruce.

No meeting on August 21 - just all turn up on 28th !

This will be Lunch at the Union Hotel. (& not our usual end of month dinner)

Our District Governor, Christine Owen, will speak on her focus items for the District, and our directors will brief Christine on our key club activities.

A great opportunity to further understand what is happening in Rotary at both District & Club level.

Toast: Kate toasted the Rotary Club of Bathurst

Member news:

- Bruce has addressed the Coles BBQ order issues. Back to Crows Nest store with reliable contact. Ian will be meeting with Bunnings.

- Ross is meeting Crows Nest Hotel this week to see if it is suitable as a venue.

- DG has requested 2 min overview from each director for her visit on August 28th.

- Crows Nest Fair (October 15th) - Will be co-ordinated by the Condells.

- Tom has a meeting about our involvement OktoberNest this week.

- Angelo is visiting East Timor in September - numerous projects

- Kate has 2 school interested in our "Buddy Bench" project.

- AGM has been set for Monday November 13th

- Giving night will be December 13th

- Kate is cleaning up our list of members with WWC clearance.

Bunnings BBQs

Thanks to Bunnings Artarmon, our Club has continued to run BBQs, which are our major fund raiser. Although exhausting, we all enjoy them!
