Hello, Members and our Rotary Friends receiving this eBulletin.
On Monday we were visited by at the Rotary Club of North Sydney. An excellent turnout by both clubs. Another successful meeting which leads nicely into our next meeting, on Nov 21st, which will debate the merger proposal.
It was also decided to hold our Giving Night on Monday 28th November @ the Northbridge Golf Club. This is one of our most important, and rewarding, functions of the year, so I hope as many as possible will attend. Please see and invite below & please RSVP, by the 22nd.
Finally a reminder we have an important breakfast to help Phoenix House raise their profile. It will be Tuesday 15th November, 7am sharp at North Sydney Leagues. We still have a couple of seats available, so call Mark ASAP if interested.
Last Monday's Meeting on the 7th of November.
International Toast: George toasted the Rotary Club of Christchurch, New Zealand
We had the pleasure of a visit by the members of the Rotary Club of North Sydney. After the usual correspondence from Secretary Mark, the Board presented the activities of the club. Locally our connection with Phoenix House is growing, and we have supplied iPads to the Crows Nest community centre, as well as assisting in the D-Cafe which is also manned by North Sydney. Our Tree of Joy is at Chatswood Chase with Chatswood rotary and is a manned project. We have just completed a CANTEEN project to supply Xboxes to children with cancer. Our current community project is with Mary's House where we have just received a grant to install a new computer system which will link all their centres, staff & volunteers.
Our youth involvement covers RYLA support, both locally and in East Timor, as well as MUNA with a Lindfield school. Internationally we still have a water project in Maliana, East Timor. We touched on our 2 membership additions this year, with a number of others in the pipeline. Two new potential members were at lunch.
In terms of revenue we have an established relationship with Bunnings for regular BBQs slots and our annual Melbourne Cup Trifecta is recovering from the pandemic disruptions.
Phoenix House breakfast - Tuesday 15th November - Still have a couple of seats. Our own Tom Sweeney will be MC, with fellow member Michael McQueen will be keynote speaker. Please contact Mark for details or names of attendees.
