Hello, Members and our Rotary Friends receiving this eBulletin.
Our Guest Speaker today,Michelle Westlund,Secretary of the Rotary Social Impact Network Inc.,gave a most enlghtening talk on the topic of "Regionalisation".Rotary's main challenge today is one of sustainability, over the last two years, membership in our District is down 20%,while the population has increased by the same amount. The focus will be aimed at those Members who have joined for up to two years ,then leave, as Rotary for whatever reason, has not fulfilled their expectations .So our Club has to make a decision if we support the participation in a Pilot Study, and for this study to proceed,it needs a two thirds majority of Clubs in our District. And while the discussion probably created more questions than answers, for our members, the website is creatingtomorrowrotary.org, and Michelle thoroughly recommend sending further questions and suggestions to the Regionalisation team through there!

President's Extra Message
July's theme is Rotary Leadership Month!
This month's theme is "New Leadership Month." Rotary brings community leaders together who have a common characteristic: the desire to serve. As leaders we have a responsibility to our community, local and globally, to place service above self to make the world a better place.
July is the start of new Rotary officers' year of service. Congratulations and all the best to the new Board team!
Our next meeting is on Monday, the 29th of August 2022, in the evening,6:30pm for 7pm start, at the Union Hotel.
Our Guest Speaker is Carla Moore, and the topic is "Shakespeare ,To Be or Not?"
Carla recently celebrated 50 years as a teacher. Her passion is Shakespeare and she has written a book teaching teachers how to teach Shakespeare. Carla is considered one of the leading exponents of Shakespeare in the Department of Education. As a published playwright, director and HSC examiner in drama, she is perfect to discuss her topic 'SHAKESPEARE - TO BE OR NOT? - a question of whether Shakespeare is still relevant today in schools.
Kate proposed the RI Toast to the Rotary Club of Wellington South, the second oldest Club in the Capital of New Zealand ,chartered in 1955 .They are strong supporters of Rotoract Clubs in the District as they embark on a tour of New Zealand ,to do some good community projects while they travel and learn about their culture
