PRESIDENT'S COLUMN

Greetings, fellow Rotarians.
There's a song from the musical Lil Abner called "The Country's in the very best of hands ".   This was never more true then when we visited Cammeray Public School to donate Buddy Benches.   Louise, Lea and I were greeted by school captains Felix and Seren and school vice captains Alessia and Lucus.  They were outstanding. They explained with no hesitation but with pride, how the whole school voted to change the school 'houses' from ancient 'explorers to current Aboriginal names "Burra",(The Eel) Daringyan" (The stingray)", "Gudugulung",(the turtle)  and Baruwal (the dolphin).
We three voted immediately to donate to the school four (4) Benches representing each of their Houses.    I was on a high as I visited the North Sydney Demonstration School who enthusiastically asked for two(2) benches for their new playgrounds following major extensions.   Well done team - that means that all 6 are allocated.  Louise is on the job of co ordinating the benches to these school.  Thanks Lea and Louise.  A Great start.
More via Zoom on Monday.
Cheers
Pres. Tom.
