Another couple of hectic weeks. Last Wednesday a team from the club presented the two Phillips Lullaby Phototherapy units to the RNSH Neonatal unit. These units play a critical part in reducing jaundice in babies born prematurely. They are state of the art and much more efficient than the lights they have been using.
Louise and Catherine participated in the Mary’s House Services 10 km fundraising walk on Sunday the 27t.h. in support Mary’s House and the excellent work they do to help those experiencing Domestic Violence.

Our next meeting is Monday, 18th November - Kerry Luxton
Dinner meeting at Crows Nest Hotel .
Kerry Luxton, our guest speaker, will present her ongoing project in West Bengal, India. The Fisherfolk Project operates six Educational Support Centres (ESCs) in remote fishing villages on the Bay of Bengal. These communities are very poor, and many children are the first in their families to attend school. Overcrowded public schools contribute to high dropout rates, child labor, and early marriage. The ESCs, which run from early morning until school start times, provide academic support, health education, and physical activities. Each center has a garden, maintained by the children, with produce given to needy families. Teachers actively monitor attendance and conduct home visits for absentees.
Minutes of the AGM will be issued shortly to all members. This will include Directors reports.
Key was the acceptance of the club's financial statement , and election of the 2025/26 board.

The club participated in the Annual Crows Nest Fair, along with numerous other local charities & local businesses. This year it was great to have Mary’s House joined us. As usual it was fun to interact with the “locals” and ‘fly the Rotary flag’. Even better was the expressions of interest in becoming members of Rotary from at least 7 individuals on the day.
Many thanks to all the members who assisted, engaging with the community proudly representing the values of the Club and Lea Condell who co-ordinated the set-up and manning of the stall.
