PRESIDENT'S COLUMN
Dear Members and Friends,

Great news from Cyril on the BBQ results last Saturday, with a record profit for this year of $1440. A great effort by all involved ,and just so we are not out of touch we have another shot this weekend coming, the 17th, so please check the roster and assist Howard where required.
Also, while we’re talking money, despite our financial situation we have decided to donate $1000 to the Timor Leste Flood Relief Appeal, being coordinated through Angelo’s RYLA connections in Timor. A very worthy Appeal.
On the other hand, it is indeed disappointing that we have had to cancel the Pride of Workmanship Dinner on the 3rd of May, due to late cancellations by some Clubs who were joining in, plus unfortunately lack of support by our own Members ,with Lane Cove Club being the only strong participant .We have now decided to include the POW presentations at our Changeover Night on the 28th of June.
Also good that, as a Club ,we have voted to continue to alternate between a Face-to-Face Meeting at the Union Hotel and a Zoom Meeting.
Finally I would like to mention our Guest Speaker this week, being a video from the recent District Conference, the keynote speaker was Dr Ray Hodgson, who spoke of his incredible experience, no holds barred, in the support of the life of young women, more often girls, living outside of Kathmandu in Nepal and his efforts to build an urgently needed Women’s Hospital in the region. Speechless.

So, in the meantime stay safe.

Yours In Rotary

President Ian
