PRESIDENT'S COLUMN

My Fellow Rotarians,

PP Peter Coote, PP Angelo Raveane and I attended a Thank You Morning Tea at RNSH Imaging Unit. Crows Nest Rotary Club contributed $3,000.00 towards the purchase of this vital piece of equipment. We were intrigued to see what the MRI coil looked like and we listened to the talk given by the representative from Phillips, the manufacturer, as to the workings and the enhanced imaging this coil provides. We learnt that this new machine has increased the imaging capabilities twofold.

The RNSH Pink Ladies Team together with five local Rotary Clubs collaborated and a District Grant was approved to help fund the MRI coil.

Our Guest Speaker today was Marilyn Kennedy , District 9685 Chair for ROMAC. Marilyn updated our Members on the wonderful work this organisation does. I am in awe of the results they achieve and the difference it makes to the lives of these children.

PP Tom Sweeney reported that Crows Nest Rotary have 3 applicants for Pride of Workmanship Awards. Please save the 17th of June and attend this special event.

A very big Thank You to PP Cyril Clark, PP Tom Sweeney and PP Philip Smith for volunteering their time at the Red Shield Appeal last Sunday. Around $10,000.00 was collected for the Salvation Army .

To all our Members travelling, have an enjoyable and safe holiday.

Look forward to seeing next week.

President Susan
