Yet another great Guest Speaker in Past District Governor Bruce Larkin, current Chair for the District Foundation, giving an update on the fabulous work being done by the Foundation with both District and Global Grants, as well as the tremendous efforts in the world wide eradication of Polio, where cases are confined to the war torn regions of Pakistan and Afghanistan. Well done Bruce.
Also a great effort for last Saturday’s Bunnings BBQ. After a relatively slow start, it didn’t take long to really kick into gear, and we finished up with a record profit, since our restart, of just over $1500. A great effort by all involved.
So next Monday we have our all-important AGM, where the Directors report on their respective portfolios and we elect our key office bearers for the next Rotary Year. An attendance is a must, and then the following Monday evening we have our end of year Giving Night, so please respond to Mark’s invitation.
Finally, we have the roster to fill out for the Tree of Joy activity, mid-December. So if you could have a look at that and make yourself available that would be great.
Bunnings BBQs continue. The Club has every 2nd Saturday until the end of the year. Next BBQ on December 5th. Please support Howard in his quest to get 6 per shift. Latest Roster - Click here.
President Ian, will chair our annual AGM. Board directors will report on their activities, including the financials.
Then we will elect the President & board for the July 2021 - June 2022 year.
Please let Ian know you interest in being in the next board.
Current directors need their report to secretary Mark, prior to the meeting please.
Note: ALL remaining 2020 meetings will be via Zoom at 12.30pm Monday lunchtimes. Click on this Link!.

Last Meeting Monday24th November 2020 - Rotary Foundation
PDG Bruce Larkin(District Foundation Chair) gave us an excellent "refresher" on the foundation.
Wordwide Charity Navigator has ranked the Foundation as top of the list of all charities for the 11th year in succession. One of the reason is that fact the the foundation spends only 6% on Admin with the rest actually spent on the projects run and supported by Rotarians. One of the key international projects is the eradication of Polio with a key milestone of Africa being declared Polio free this year. This leaves only Pakistan & Afghanistan with 133 cases, done from the 350,000 annual cases when we started in 1988. Currently we use 150,00 workers over 70 countries to immunise 400 million children annually. Bill Gates is still contributing $2 for every $1 we raise.
More specifically for our district we have $352,000 this year with 38 District grants and 27 Global grants being approved. Crows Nest Rotary had a $3000 grant approved for iPads for the Crows Nest Community centre and has received awards for their annual donation of $5000. The foundation also gives grants for disaster Response with a recent examples of a Macquarie University project for a support package for International students impacted by COVID19.
We were reminded of the ways to donate to the Foundation. These being Centurion program($100), Paul Harris Fellow($1000), major donor & thru a Bequest. Details are available at the website: www.rotary.org/give
