Hello, Members and our Rotary Friends receiving this eBulletin.
Wishing you all a very Happy New Year for 2022 !!
Lets hope it’s a little better than 2021 !
The Christmas Tree of Joy at Chatswood Chase manned by Crows Nest Rotary from 10th to 16th December, gave shoppers the opportunity to give to worthy causes. $4,500 was donated, plus multiple gifts. Another successful Tree of Joy! Many thanks to PP Sue, and all the volunteers who gave their time to man the Tree!
Our Rotary Meetings are held every Monday lunchtime. Yesterday the board and a few members met on Zoom and decided, that in lieu of the rise in pandemic infections, we should revert meetings from ‘face to face’ (at the Union Hotel, Nth Sydney) to Zoom. So next Monday we extend an invitation to you to join us, we shall meet on Zoom at 12.30pm (until 2pm) when our special guest presenter will be a group of fund raising ladies who will be telling us about future projects in China/Tawain.
Our BBQs are back! and we have our next this Saturday 15th January, so please spare the time, come on down to Bunnings Artarmon and enjoy a ‘Sausage Sizzle’. I express my thanks to PP Howard who manages the BBQ Rosters, and remember, if you can assist please contact Howard or meyself asap, as volunteers are needed!!
Adherence to and promotion of the highest ethical standards in all occupations, including fair treatment of employers, employees, associates, competitors, and the public.
The recognition of the worthiness of all useful occupations, not just those that are pursued by Rotarians.
The contribution of your vocational talents to solving the problems of society and meeting the needs of the community.
During January, Rotarians are encouraged to focus on this important avenue of Rotary service. Discussions on vocational service can lead to projects that not only develop the ethical consciousness and vocational skills of Rotarians but also the talents within their communities. Vocational Service Month is an opportunity to begin year-long vocational service activities, ranging from Rotary discussions to awards to community projects.
2021-2022
Next Meeting is Monday, the 17th of January 2022 - Chiu Ling - Using Chinese Projects Account money ?
What do we do with the Chinese Projects Account ,originally intended for projects in China, but nothing forthcoming after a number of years.
Angelo has since spoken to Chiu ,who was involved in the original fund raising, and she has some ideas to be discussed at this meeting.
Due to COVID this Monday's meeting will be via ZOOM.
We do plan to return to alternating every week, between Zoom & the Hotel, but will remain on Zoom in January.
Please check confirmation in the weekly eBulletin.
Last Monday, January 10th, was a special President's Zoom hook-up.
We weren't planning to meeting until January 17th, but President Philip called a special Zoom meeting to discuss two - key issues which could not wait until next week.
Firstly the question of do we meet at the Union Hotel or revert back to ZOOM every week.
The majority decision was to have the January Meetings via Zoom.
We will revisit the situation at the Board meeting scheduled for Wednesday 2nd February.
Hopefully by then will be have a clearer picture & a more stable situation.
Secondly the scheduled BBQs for January 15th & 29th.
Bunnings is allowing the BBQs to be held with the same Health rules as in December. (Angelo will recheck on Friday).
Participation by members is their choice - Please let Howard know.
(i.e. At least 3 volunteers will be waiting until after their third Vaccination booster before joining the roster later this month)
This Saturday (15th) we have 3 rostered for each shift. Anyone else available for the morning shift ? - Call Howard ASAP.
We also have the issue of no guaranteed supplies from Coles. Angelo is co-ordinating members buying Sausages & Bread.
Please call out if you can contribute to the roster and/or supplies. We really need your help.
