PRESIDENT'S COLUMN

Dear Friends in Crows Nest,

What a delightful meeting we had last Monday. We welcomed back Kate from Switzland, Angelo from Ryla in Timor and Mark from Europe. What gad abouts?

Thanks to Ian for creating the Bulleting in Mark's absence. How indebted are we for such committed members and talking of members, we welcome two new members, Louise Steblina and Catherine Henny. Vince Caruso is following soon. Bunnings went well last Saturday, record takings. Thanks Bruce for a smooth collection at Coles.

Leah Condell gave a full run down of plans for the Crows Nest Fair on Sunday 15th. She is so organised. Thanks to all who are rostered on for the day.

Nest Monday is a ZOOM meeting and we're to hear of the travel exploits of Kate, Mark and Angelo. Don't miss this zoom.

Louise has all the Buddy Benches in hand and delivery in two weeks.

We will be discussing our future plans for our meetings, some changes to explore as well as a possible project in Fiji with Northbridge Club.

Toast: Tom toasted the Rotary Club of Jerusalem

Updates on our key projects:

Buddy Benches - Louise has been ordered 6 benches for Cammeray & North Sydney demonstration schools, and they are expected to arrive this month.

Sue & Angelo successfully chased up District, and our Grant for this project has now been approved.

Crows Nest Fair this Sunday(15th Oct). Leah has organised the Rotary Crows Nest stall. Please come along and support the volunteers.

10am - 5pm on Willoughby Road, Crows Nest.

Trifecta tickets have been issued for members to sell. Unsold tickets should be brought to the November 6th meeting.

If you need more tickets please contact Angelo, as we have more tickets to sell.

We have issued 15 sets of ticket to other clubs, so expecting $7000 from this activity.

Northbridge Club has approached us to join them in installing toilets in a school at Luatoka, Fiji.

The board will discuss at this week's meeting.

Member news:

- Polio train will arrive at St. Leonard's station at 2.30pm on October 24th - 220 stations to be visited.

- Last week's BBQ made $2072. Next BBQ October 28th.

- Board agenda issued Monday 9th.
- Andre has booked out the whole theatre for Joy's show "Gaslight". Please diary in 23rd November.
