The Board has taken the decision to cancel all Crows Nest Rotary events / meetings until after Easter.
This means
1. First Monday lunchtime meeting is now scheduled for Monday April 20th.
2. Pride of Workmanship on March 30th is postponed (refunds will be arranged)
3. Bunnings BBQs are cancelled until further notice.
As you will read it was their decision and my understanding is that they will
be offering us Gift vouchers - watch this space
4. D_cafe training(March 20th) & opening (March 25th) is postponed
5. Board meeting is still scheduled for Tuesday April 7th, but MAY revert to online or email. It is extremely disappointing to take this step, but I'm sure you understand why.
The situation will be reviewed weekly, so please watch your emails for updates.
We are not allocating new dates for postponed events, until the situation "clears".

Bunnings has advised that there will be no BBQ's until further notice due to the outcome of the Corona Virus.We will advise as soon as this policy has been changed.
Our Next Meeting will be some time in the near Future

At our Meeting on the 16th of March 2020 the Guest Speaker was Craig Wood,up-dating us on developments at Destiny Rescue
Craig is the new NSW/ACT Community Partnership Manager for Destiny Rescue, and he spoke with great passion on the work he and his staff had carried out to rescue young girls in various Asian locations from Brothels and the likes and helping them change their lives.
Craig is a RYLA Graduate and his father was President of Penrith Rotary Club
Craig has been part of Destiny rescue for the past 7 years. He has worked in Laos, Cambodia and Thailand, overseeing building projects in Rescue homes and on the field doing Reconnaissance Missions into some of the most notorious red light districts in South East Asia. Craigs' main focus was to bring awareness and raise support about one of the fastest growing crimes in our century. He works tirelessly to end human trafficking in his life time
The International Toast was proposed by Mark Staples to the Rotary Club of London,who meet at Chesterfield in Mayfair,founded in 1911,the first Rotary Club outside the USA.All up there are 108 Clubs in London.
Lot of discussion was on the fallout of the Corona Virus,but all resolved as per Mark's note above.The Rotary Conference plus the District Assembly have been cancelled.However District is now looking at using a video link Assembly,details TBA.
Sue reminded members who have volunteered to respond to the D-Caf email she had sent out.
The writer attended the PETS Conference on Sunday,with a lot of the discussion on the fallout and contingency plans around the Virus.We were introduced via video link to the new RI President,Holger Knaack and the new theme Rotary Opens Opportunities.But more importantly I met the DGE,David Clark and the AGE, John Zhang from Chatswood International,and we will see them in the near future at Changeover and Club Meetings.Big focus on Strategic Planning.
Due to the relatively long break between BBQ's, problems with obtaining the usual supplies at Coles,but in the end resolved.
Bill Lee and Sue advised that PP Peter Coote went through a 9 hour operation during the week,which was apparently very successful,and the surgeons were pleased with the outcome.
REMINDERS:
Tom announced the next play the Willoughby Group are running, and that is "Priscilla, Queen of the Desert".Tom will be holding 20 tickets for us on Tuesday, the 19th of May, with dinner beforehand. As a result, there will be no Meeting on Monday, the 18th of May.
Mark advised that the Crows Nest Fair will be held this year on the 18th of October,and if we are to be involved we need to start thinking about our involvement.A subject for the next Board Meeting
Phil Smith will be working on updating our website page.Numerous ideas were discussed
Angelo is confident our Club will receive a Grant from Trent Zimmerman's office for between $2-5000 for local Community Projects
Tom will be collecting the Bowel Scan Kits shortly for distribution,run by Gosford Club
Angelo is working on getting involved with Toastmasters,to see what we can learn from one another.
