Past President Philip Smith also joined us. He has found a strong club on the Sunshine coast who have just spent $50,000 on helping the 1200 homeless people on the coast.
After the meeting we approved $500 towards Catherine's sleepout.
Members can also do individual donations.
Where Will the Funds Go?
Funds raised at the SleepOut will go to The Haven Project. The Haven Project builds homes for well-established youth homelessness charities, which then operate them. The funds raised have a very tangible effect on the lives of at-risk youth in Australia. Haven South Dowling for the Salvation Army is the Flagship project, which will have 19 bedrooms and is our key focus at the moment.
