PRESIDENT'S COLUMN

Dear Fellow Rotarians and Friends,

Well another week and another Bunnings BBQ dealing up numerous challenges .However the Back Up Team did a great job in organising the morning setup and food supply ,and things were soon back to normal .The day gave us a clear profit of $1340,so thanks to all involved for a great effort, and just a reminder, we’ll all be back on the 7th of November(TBC),  so it’s every second week until Christmas.
Good to see new member, Tracy working the cash ,and she really enjoyed the atmosphere and the friendly nature of her fellow workers and customers alike.
Well, with only a week to go ,we really need to move those Trifecta Tickets. Definitely harder this year, but let’s challenge ourselves to sell all our tickets.
This being Polio Plus Week, we showed a video on the work Rotary is doing in Africa, where the wild Polio virus has been eliminated, plus in Afghanistan and Northern Pakistan, where the Aid Workers are doing a tremendous job in very trying circumstances, but we still have a way to go.
A great Video, very well put together.
Next is face to face Meetings, as opposed to Zoom Meeting. While the preference from Monday’s Meeting was to start with alternate Zoom and Hotel Meetings.
While nothing immediately available at the Crows Nest Hotel, in discussion with Dean at the Union Hotel, while he would be happy to have us back, although we need some more relaxation of the  social distancing Rules, which he believes are imminent, but more than likely, would be looking at early in the new year to start off. In the meantime, Stay Safe
