Today was our first open Board Meeting for 2018-2019 and also our last. I have decided that future Board Meetings will be held every two months and in the evening ,all members are welcome to attend.However, I have asked my Board to report once a month to our Club as part of a Monday Meeting .
We welcomed Bill and Ross back from the Toronto Rotary International Convention . Both said they enjoyed it and mentioned the Convention included guest speakers including Laura Bush and a surprise visit and talk by The Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau.
Angelo and I attended District Changeover last Saturday Night where Susan Wakefield was inducted as 2018-2019 District 9685 Governor. DG Susan will be visiting our Club on Monday the 13 th of August . Please mark this in your diary as I ask that we have as many Club Members as possible attend.

Christine, from Odyssey House is our Guest Speaker this Monday . Her subject is alcohol and other drugs in the local community.
Christine has 7 years experience managing marketing and communications and fundraising projects for Leukaemia Foundation and Youth Off The Streets before joining Odyssey House NSW in January 2016. Her experience includes brand and reputation management, establishing and building a Marketing and Communications department within a Not-for-Profit, fundraising planning and implementation, and being a trusted advisor to the business. She also has 9 years For-profit experience in the public relations industry both in the UK and in Australia working on multinational clients such as IBM and Adobe.
Christine is an ocean swimmer who swims with a group at Bondi Beach every Saturday morning. Throughout the year. She also rides a Royal Enfield

Sue gave the International toast to the Rotary Club of Toronto,location of the most recent International Conference.This Club has some 160 members,started in 1912,meeting Friday lunchtime at the Fairmont Hotel.They raise an impressive $900,000 plus each year,mainly for local projects.,

Mark has got the ball rolling with this year's Melbourne Cup Trifecta by issuing 730 emails to prospective participating Groups,not only Rotary Clubs.
Received a request via Roseville Club to assist in a BBQ fundraiser for the RHS hospital who need to purchase a new MRI machine.
In addition,Mark has produced a calendar of events for the next 12 months , available in Clubrunner documents . Feedback appreciated..
