Mercy Works

Mercy Works is the development arm of the Sisters of Mercy in Australia and Papua New Guinea.

The development programs undertaken promote justice, self-reliance and support peoples and communities who are displaced or denied access to basic resources such as education, health care and social welfare.

Mercy Works is based in Sydney, from which programs are operated across Australia.  Overseas projects are run in partnership with local organisations in Papua New Guinea and Timor Leste.

Following his graduation from the University of Sydney with a Bachelors Degree in Agricultural Economics, Kingsley Edwards decided to pursue a career where his life-long passion laid – in thoroughbred breeding and racing, as a specialist equine insurance broker.
After 25 years in that industry, in 2016 his passion for social justice and his motivation to give back to the community led him to a new career in the charity sector.   Kingsley transferred his relationship-building skills developed in the corporate world to fundraising and donor relationships.
Inspired by the stories of the people whose lives are transformed by the empowerment programs of Mercy Works, last year Kingsley joined the organization as Donor Development Manager.
