the Australian First Responder Charitable Foundation - Mental Health issues
May 03, 2021 12:02 pm
""I
"I am reaching out hoping that you may be able to assist.
Last year I was very fortunate to be awarded a Churchill Fellowship and travelled to the UK, Canada and USA to investigate programs that help reduce mental health issues and suicide in our emergency first responders. With over 380,000 emergency first responders in Australia and 240,000 of those being volunteers It is essential that we look after our emergency first responders so that they can look after us.
From the Churchill Fellowship learnings, I have established the Australian First Responder Charitable foundation (with DGR 1 status) and have made a commitment to raise money to offer free wellbeing retreats to emergency first responders and their loved ones.
The retreats will give them the opportunity to rest, recharge and reset.
There are no other retreats in NSW specifically focused on our emergency first responders so we are excited about this and know we will make a difference"

Code of Conduct for all members
Jul 26, 2021 12:30 pm
Click here to read; the Rotary Code of Conduct, and District 9685’ guidelines say; Most situations arise when one person is concerned about a specific incident. The next step can stem from misunderstanding or misperception about the other person’s motives. This can lead to tension and helps to build towards a crisis, and if it is not resolved, it can result in a potential loss of a member or disharmony in the club between a number of members. |
