PRESIDENT'S COLUMN

Hello Rotarians,

This past week we inducted our newest member Kate Riddle – Welcome Kate, we hope that you find Rotary to be fulfilling and enjoy the fellowship. You are a member of a group of like-minded people looking to do good in the world and we welcome your input, commitment and sweat.

This past week we had our board meeting and covered off on the goings on of the club. We have elected to move our club back to Crows Nest and will be in our new home at the Community Centre from our first meeting back in April after the Easter long weekend. There will be teething issues no doubt, so I ask for your patience and help to ensure a smooth transition to what I believe is an important part in attracting members to Crows Nest Rotary and being able to be more involved in our community. This week coming we will have a talk on Western Harbour Tunnel and Beaches Link Project Up-date by Seve Brien which I think all members who live and commute locally will find interesting. Look forward to seeing you all on Monday – have a great weekend.

Yours in Rotary,

 Alon

MEETING ROSTER

Next Meeting is on Monday the 19th March 2018.
Steve Brian will be presenting the Western Harbour Tunnel and Beaches Link Project Up-date.

In March 2017, NSW Premier Gladys Berejiklian announced the concept alignment for the Western Harbour Tunnel and Beaches Link project.  If built, this major transport infrastructure project would deliver a new motorway that would increase cross-harbour transport capacity, provide a traffic bypass of the Sydney CBD and take pressure off the Sydney Harbour Bridge and the Sydney Harbour Tunnel.

Since March, the project team has directly engaged with over 4,500 people.

Steve Brien has over 25 years’ experience working on major transport infrastructure, including Sydney Metro, Countrylink, State Rail, the Eastern Distributor, Cross City Tunnel, M2, M5 East Motorways and the Anzac Bridge. He was also Head of Communications for the Sydney 2000 Olympics Games, dubbed the “Best Games Ever”.  Steve is the Senior Communication and Stakeholder Engagement lead for the Western Harbour Tunnel and Beaches Link Project.
