PRESIDENT'S COLUMN

At last Monday’s meeting fellow Rotarian and Past President Peter, stood in for me and chaired the meeting, at which we had several visitors; Julie Stuart, and Roger Williams, representing Delvina and Marys House, Andre Hariman from the Rotary Club of Chatswood Sunrise Club, Visitors Chris Anthony and Alex Delnibble.  We welcome all visitors!
Next week we have a Board Meeting, which apart from the usual discussion of the progress made with out Projects, we will also be discussing our Meeting’s venue.  As you are aware, the Club would ideally like to meet each week in Crows Nest! But to date there are little or no venues available to us, due mainly to the restaurants closing on a Monday for a rest having worked over the weekend.
So the Club tried out an alternative venue last Monday 26 February, at the Northside Baptist Church hall.  I think overall there was a positive response from our members, but we’ll need to discuss the option at the next Board Meeting.
I look forward to seeing lots of members and visitors at our next meeting, 12.30pm the Union Hotel, Pacific Highway, corner of West Street.
Think about this; being part of Rotary is more than just giving back to the community by volunteering.  It is also about you bringing your skills, experience and enthusiasm to help it thrive, whilst making some great friends along the way.   Our club is a friendly place which invites speakers from a wide range of backgrounds to share their knowledge, increasing your social and cultural understanding.   Members also share a common interest in friendship and if you visit our club you will immediately feel the sense of camaraderie and fun.  I urge you to come along and see for yourself!

Cheers Alon
