Lucy Jones, Founder and President Neuroblastoma Australia
Lucy started Neuroblastoma Australia as a result of losing her two and half year old daughter,Sienna. This form of cancer can be present prior to birth, and essentially Lucy is after research funding ,not a miracle.Drug development is a very lengthy and expensive process, and to go through all the stages can take 10-12 years before it reaches the market. And while cancer treatment receives large funding, the frustration is most of the monies go to adult cancer forms and very little to childhood types ,such as Neuroblastoma.Lucy's objective is to increase awareness and funding, and has been successful in involving TV personality,Peter Overton , and Gold Medal Olympian Chloe Esposito. Two major events held during the year to raise funds include Run2Cure Fun Run,where the aim is to raise $200,000 and Sienna's Gala Dinner,$100,000.
Chartered in 1986,and one of their major current projects is fundraising for Childhood Cancer, and they have a 100% for Paul Harris fellows.
