You are invited to attend a special screening of the new feature film "Ambrosia"  by director Rhiannon Bannenberg at Hayden Orpheum, Cremorne, on Tuesday 8th September.

The film deals with the psychological impact of chronic pain on a young woman's life.  Several Friends of PMRI attended the preview screening on 23rd July.

"The film represents  a break through in communicating the impact of chronic pain, not just on the life of the person suffering, but the flow-on effects on family and friends. Warren"

Ambrosia - Special Screening, 8th September

National Pain Week, held in late July, aimed to remove the stigma and silence around the invisible burden carried by those who suffer chronic pain and their carers.  This screening of "Ambrosia" will appeal to a very broad audience.

We love the way this film intimately describes the issues that people living with pain deal with every day. Feelings of isolation and guilt are often not associated with those suffering from ongoing pain but they are both very real and present issues.

Based on real life experience, Ambrosia deals with these themes as experienced by 'India' a young woman played by Rebecca Montalti. Outwardly, India seems normal but internally she is struggling with a multitude of issues as a consequence of her constant pain.  We think people will gain immense insight through India's journey in the film as well as the Q&A after with the filmmakers.

Ambrosia was written, directed and shot by Rhiannon Bannenberg who has an intimate understanding of chronic pain having lived with the condition since her early teen years and who will be attending this screening - not to be missed!
